Indulge in a weekend with friends, or just take some time for yourself at BOTA BOTA, the spa sur l'eau that anchored itself on the lachine canal in perfect view of the Old Port and city skyline. Originally an old 2500 square foot ferry, the vessel underwent a dramatic transformation last year when it was unveiled as a modern, floating health spa that is ultra cool in both design and concept.
I first visited this place with my girlfriends over my birthday weekend, and I must say that every detail, down to every last porthole, has been taken care of. We started with a sauna and steam, sweating out the bottles of wine we drank the night before over dinner, and then plunged ourselves in the cold bath. Following this, we headed out to the front deck to the whirpool - powered by geothermal energy from the underlying water - so we could relax under the summer sun. Full body massages, which could be done inside or under an outdoor cabana, rounded out the experience and convinced me I had to come back for more.
I'm looking forward to trying one of their many body treatments or returning for a mani-pedi at their Bota Chic Cocktail lounge with friends soon. Purchasing their Bota Passport provides you with the water circuit at reduced cost for both you and your guests. It also gives you a discount on all facial, massage and body treatments, which is a good incentive to return within the three month period to pamper yourself some more. Open 7 days a week, from 10 am to 10 pm, you'll have no excuses not to!
Tip: If you are available during the week, they offer 2-for-1 Tuesdays, with access to the water circuit for you and a friend at half price.
